Agri-sensing
Current Status
Close Range Data -- July 6, 1998
The image to the left shows that canopy closure is nearly complete (approx. 85% cover). No signs of moisture stress were apparent.
The graph below displays a portion of the third set of data, acquired on July 6, 1998. Corn height is approximately 60 inches (V12). The IFOV of the sensor is 60 inches and was positioned 19 feet above the canopy. Sky conditions were mostly clear with some haze and clouds low on the horizon.
In comparison with the curve from June 19, reflectance in the near-infrared has greatly increased (700-1000 nm) while reflectance in the blue (400-500 nm) and visible red (600-700 nm) ranges has decreased. Green reflectance, with a peak at 550 nm, is readily distinguishable.
